- The portfolio includes The Deutz (Tribute Portfolio), three Courtyard by Marriott hotels in Dortmund, Schwerin and Magdeburg, the Moxy Bochum and the Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade
- Operator model free of CAPEX and OPEX: Pluq carries investment, operation and risk, while the operator shares in the revenue through a transparent revenue split
Amsterdam/Berlin, 28 August 2026 — Step Partners Europe is expanding its charging infrastructure with Pluq. Four additional charging points are being added at the Moxy Bochum in 2026, bringing the total to 32 charging points across six hotel sites in Germany. The rollout is delivered by Dutch destination-charging specialist Pluq, which takes on financing, installation and operation in full.
For Step Partners Europe, charging infrastructure is part of upgrading its sites. Pluq’s operator model is free of CAPEX and OPEX. A central portal records consumption and utilisation across all sites and supplies the data for ESG reporting.
“Guest demand for charging at hotels is growing markedly. For operators, it is shifting from an add-on to an integral part of a competitive property. We take on exactly this task in full, from financing and installation to operation”, says Pieter Zijlema, CEO and co-founder of Pluq.
Pluq finances, installs and operates the charging infrastructure at the individual sites and carries the operational risk. The operator shares in the revenue through a transparent revenue split. In Germany, Pluq continues to grow across the hospitality, real estate and healthcare segments.
“For our guests, charging at the hotel has become an expectation. For us, it is a factor that keeps the location competitive. With Pluq we offer it without investing ourselves. The expansion at the Moxy Bochum is the next step”, says Andre Guettouche, Partner at Step Partners Europe.
